About ME
Hi!ð My name is Jianhao Ruan(éŪåŧščąŠ). I am an undergraduate in DSA Thrust at HKUST (GZ). From May to Nov 2025, I interned at the DSAIL Lab under Prof.Lijia, focusing on LLMs and graph algorithms. Since Sep 2025, I have been a Research Engineer intern with the MetaGPT team, supervised by Research Scientist Jiayi Zhang, co-supervised by Prof. Luo Yuyu and Prof. Bang Liu, working on multi-agent systems and reinforcement learning.
I am an exchange student at UCLA from Jan to May 2026.
I am actively looking for 2027 fall PhD positions and industry internship collaborations. Feel free to email me if you are interested.
My research interests include multi-agent systems (MAS), agentic LLM architectures, learning and memory systems, and reinforcement learning and reward design.

Exposing Weaknesses of Large Reasoning Models through Graph Algorithm Problems

- Proposed a benchmark to rigorously evaluate the reasoning robustness of large reasoning models (LRMs) through graph algorithmic problems.
- Co-led experimental design and comparative analysis to identify systematic weaknesses in multi-step reasoning performance.
AOrchestra: Automating Sub-Agent Creation for Agentic Orchestration

- Proposed a unified, framework-agnostic agent abstraction that models any agent as a tuple (Model, Task, Tools, Context) for compositional capability design.
- Built AOrchestra, an agentic system achieving 16.28% relative improvement against the strongest baseline across GAIA, SWE-Bench, and Terminal-Bench.
